About Us - People

Laurence (Laurie) and Ruth Webb live in Bendigo with their two teenage children, Luke and Rachel.

Laurie

Laurie grew up in a Methodist environment and was born again after watching the film “Thief In The Night". He loves the Word of God and spends many hours reading it, especially proclaiming it aloud. Laurie has worked mainly in the Victorian gas industry.

In 1997 Laurie published A Disciples Packet of Seeds which is a resource for prayer and mind renewal. He has a gift in writing letters to newspapers and politicians. He always uses these opportunities to give the Gospel to the public. Laurie’s writings nearly always create a stir in readers – either rapturous applause or severe reaction. He also writes articles for Praise Alert as well as reviewing, proof reading and editing material written by others.

Ruth

Ruth first sensed the call to music ministry within a year of conversion at age 11. In 1977 she graduated from Melbourne University with a degree in music education. Ruth continues to teach music privately and in secondary schools and has served in churches in Melbourne and Bendigo.

In 1993, Ruth released her first book, Restoring True Worship. This book has brought much comfort to the many who have felt isolated and even confused by some of the current music trends in the church. Other ministry with Laurie has included travelling throughout Australia and New Zealand and leading an interdenominational prayer group to intercede for Israel. Ruth is currently in leadership of the Prophetic Intercession team for Pray Bendigo.
